I think at the time I was making sure I remembered what I was thinking about when I wrote the post so that if I decide to paint it later. My memory isn't so good. So, when I paint it, I will extend the brick pattern behind the flower. And, looking at it today, I wonder if the brick lines need to be horizontal and not at an angle or will the slight angle give the painting interest. That rose is really very pretty.
